One of my favourite parts of designing is incorporating an unexpected component into my spaces. This could be in the form of a colour, a pattern, a funky piece of furniture or a material. Right now, I am really liking concrete to achieve this. Sometimes given a bad rep for being a 'cold' and uninviting material, when mixed with the right elements it can really create that WOW factor. Whether you want to go big with polished concrete floors, or use it on a smaller scale with a piece of concrete furniture, fireplace surround, or kitchen countertops it's a fantastic and durable material. It also comes in a range of other colours, like whites and beautiful tones of beige and browns. What do you think?
