Design Crush: Tom Dixon

After seeing photos of these new Manhattan offices, I knew it was time to write about one of my favorute designers, Tom Dixon.  Designing McCann Erickson’s headquarters in Midtown Manhattan, Tom Dixon's Design Research Studio created an office unlike any other for the prominent PR firm.  Creating an open-concept office space was a risky move (often criticized for being noisy spaces with a lack of privacy). However, the Dixon team came up with an incredibly functional and impressive design solution.  By creating a number multi-functional break-out spaces that encourage employees to have alone time, as well as developing a flexible work environment prompting employees to move freely and choose where to work, the design teams  goals were definitely fulfilled: creating a space employees actually want to spend time in.  Judging by these photos, I wouldn't mind spending some time there myself! If you share my love for all things Tom Dixon check out my round up of my favourite Dixon accessories that you can add to your own home.
